"There is hunger for ordinary bread, and there is hunger for love, for kindness, for thoughtfulness; and this is the great poverty that makes people suffer so much."

-Mother Teresa

our calling

We are a church who's vision is to seek God, share Christ, and serve others. We adopted this vision in 2006 and are striving to meet that vision in everything we do.

Our congregation is set in a suburb of Independence, Missouri. Most people know where we are, but have no idea how to get to us... we hope this web page will help with that!! We try to be a community that’s full of love for each other, almost like a family. But we are a family that is constantly expanding and growing. We’re a community because we realize that to find God in our lives, we need help from each other. So, we strive to lift each other up in worship, in study, and in all we do so that we can all find ourselves closer to God, and because of that, living lives that are full of meaning and purpose.

announcements:

January's sermon series is all about Job. It's a tough subject of suffering and faithfulness. So be sure to come and learn what it means to be human in light of despair."

Feb. 6 starts the season of Lent. That Wednesday we will have a special Ash Wednesday service at 7pm. And each Wednesday following we will have a Vespers service featuring some of the ministers in our own congregations. We hope to struggle with the inner workings of the Spirit.

Let's not forget that although the Holidays are over, the real journey of faith starts now. Be sure and make note of things that might help you on this journey. Our community is here just for this purpose.
